Paper Wedding Bouquets! Check out my Etsy

So here is a new venture I am going on! I have already told you all about the Etsy Shop, LoriBoeDesign, where I share and sell my new creations that are wedding related, and the newest addition is my paper, silk, and cotton flower bouquets. Below is my all paper bouquet titled 'Mustard and Gray" and is composed of handmade (by me!) origami and rolled textured paper flowers. I abolutely love this color combo and have been seeing alot of it lately. The center of the Origami flowers are adorned with a button, for a little extra home made style.

The papers I am using are very high quality, heavy cardstock, and this particular bouquet uses several different shades of mustard yellow, which I think adds to the texture and interest quite a bit. The stems have been wrapped in a chocolate brown, and have a twine knotting going all the up to the base of the bouquet. Also, what a great keepsake these make from your wedding!! Plop it in a cool vintage vase and you now have a beautiful bouquet that will never wilt!

Let me know your feedback on these too, it is a new idea I had, I have seen them around and thought "I can make those! and they are so adorable!" Also the single flowers by themselves could be used for all kinds of wedding decor. One at each placesetting, or maybe strands of them hanging from a ceiling or tree would be amazing!

Above is another I made of a combination of printed papers in a mixture of antique blue, chocolate and mocha browns, taupe and cream colors. I tied the stems with a vintage inspired ribbon for a fun added texture, and something fun to hang as you walk down the aisle. The above right is the bouquet on display in a vintage milk jug that I have, love it on my mantle!

So all of the above are made of paper, and below I will show you a mixture of the silks and handmade cotton and burlap! These are just stunning, and can be made in any color scheme you can think of.

At the top of the bouquet is a handmade cotton fringed layered flower with black rhinestones at the center. The larger flowers are silk peonies and ranunuculas, in creamy ivory and blush pinks. These are all filled with fuzzy dusty miller leaves and hand rolled burlap rosettes. I can get enough of it!! Very elegant, but still rustic and chic, perfect for a barn or outdoor wedding. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my new creations, of course, my favorites will always be fresh flowers! But these are some fun and unique options to think outside the box, I also plan on making a few samples of combining the two, this would be a great way to incorporate new textures and match specific wedding color schemes! Beautiful Downtown Church Wedding

Congratulations Hannah! I loved working with this bride, she had a beautiful style, and I can't wait to see her professional photos from her photographer! Simple, English garden, natural style using cream and eggplant purple, and accented by dusty miller, vintage lace, and burlap. Ceremony was downtown San Luis at the First Presbyterian Church, which is a gorgeous stone church in the heart of San Luis.

The bride carried a rich and vintage feeling bouquet of eggplant calla lilies, purple and ivory lizianthus, accented by dusty miller and baby's breath. The stems were wrapped with burlap, pinned with pearl pins, and tied with ivory lace to match her dress. Loved it! The bridesmaids had simple clutch bouquets of white garden roses and baby's breath, also wrapped with burlap and a simple knot of thinner lace to coordinate with the bride. They looked amazing against their purple chiffon dresses!

Centerpieces were a simple 'just picked' style, using Avalanche garden roses, lizianthus, seeded eucalyptus, and hints of baby's breath. The wooden riser was perfect to anchor the stone-filled vase in the center of the table. I am all for any type of anchor for your centerpieces, be it fabric, wood, stone, tile, or petals. Having this really draws in the eye of your guest and adds interest to any floral arrangement. Great job Hannah!

What a beautiful Lady!! Jen is the sweetest and funnest bride, friend, and now.... mommy! Photos compliments of Cameron Ingalls, Their wedding was a couple years ago, packed with fun and family and friends. I LOVED the peonies I selected for her, Jen was very simple in her requests and gave me lots of room to play, so I had a great time selecting flowers that fit her color scheme and vibe of wedding. Jennifer and Mike just had their first little baby boy, Alex, only a few weeks ago, and I know they are going to be loving and devoted parents. Alex is a lucky little boy!

Lucas and Jessica- Nipomo CA

What a fun filled wedding! Lucas is my husband's cousin, and Jessica is his beautiful new bride, that we are all so excited to officially be part of our huge family here on the central coast... (and spread throughout the country!)

These two are sooooooo in love! The ceremony was very traditional, held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Nipomo, CA. After that the gang took a hay ride, towed by the family tractor, across town to the Family ranch. This is definately a perk of small town living!!! Her flowers had a very natural and rustic touch, the soft lisianthus, dahlia, and splash of Milva roses, accented by seeded eucalyptus and buplearum foliage. Tough to see in the photo, I wrapped the stems with a mossy green, a band of burlap, gold binding, and tied at the top with a heirloom golden leaf necklace. The perfect 'something old' and a great way to personalize a bouquet. Loved the whole thing and love this couple!

Look at all these lovely ladies!! I love the natural textures and colors she chose, they compliment the surroundings perfectly! Below is the beautiful cake, created by my very own mother-in-law, Betty Ralph. We did the decorating together... isn't she the greatest?! What a talented woman, and this is just one of the many crafty things she has up her sleeve. I am thinking of creating and selling a 'cake kit' that includes the items necessary to decorate your cake in this style, among others, possibly on etsy. Something easy to give to any bakery and they can assemble it on site. I'll keep you all updated on that project as it unfolds!

Cory and Yvette- My First Hosted Wedding!

My Nephew Cory, and his beautiful new wife Yvette tied the knot in a beautiful and intimate backyard wedding at my ranch in Arroyo Grande. Not only their dream come true, but mine too!!! They gave me a budget and a few of their wishes then let me do whatever I wanted!!! Lots of vintage items, the color scheme was bubblegum pink and aqua/teal. I loved how the centerpieces turned out as well!! We did low wooden boxes filled with dolce vida garden roses, sweet avalanche roses, china mums, gerbera daisies, lotus pods and moss, they then had tall manzanita branches coming up with hanging crystals to add a little sparkle in the mix. Burlap table runners, then fabric napkins of different pink, ivory, and gray patterns.

In the background there on the wall of my barn studio we hung vintage picture frames and wooden windows and spelled LOVE using different patterened craft paper. Throughout the yard were paper lanterns on shepherd hooks and hanging from all the trees.

Instead of a guestbook for such a small guest count, we used one of my manzanita wishing trees and we all wrote notes on patterned craft paper tags and tied them to the tree branches. I used my vintage suitcases for stacking items and my old tool box to hold the paper and pens. A great welcoming to the guests as they enter the garden! And then the cake... My sister 'dabbles' in wedding cakes... by this I mean that she is so creative and talented and can do anything! She told me this cake was ok, and I think it is amazing, not to mention it tasted great! Here she has 2 layers of chocolate with handmade chocolate fill and the middle layer is white with buttercream filling and fresh strawberries. Little fondant birdies nestled amongst manzanita branches and a few fall leaves. All on display atop a vintage rolling iron table against the side of the house.

Her Flowers had a simple and fresh feel. Dolce Vida Garden roses, Sarbonne Oriental lilies, Venice gerbera daisies, china mums and soft pink ranunuclus. A simple round bouquet wrapped with pink ribbon. Here it is on display at the head table in a vintage jar tied with the aqua ribbon.

Not only did I tackle full coordination of their event, I handled the food as well. I love the cook, and I love to display what I make! So below is the spread of home made bruchetta and fresh baguette, Italian pasta salad, and the fresh fruit was all on display in an old wooden drawer on top of a vintage coke box. A pretty classic family style display. We also had hot apple cider and fresh squeezed lemonade. Cocktails and appetizers was just enough for a sunny but chilly Sunday afternoon event!

A wonderful and completely in love couple was married, and that is the most important part. I was so happy to be part of such an amazing, fun, and love-filled event. The most amazing part- we did this whole event, hosted for 45 people, for less that $1000.00!!! Granted I am a florist and already had many display items, but I want all of you to know that no matter your budget, with a little creativity and help from your friends and family you can have a perfect and beautiful wedding! There is nothing you can't do, and I am a huge fan of thinking outside the box, which is exactly what I got to do for this event.

This was a beautiful bride that I had last winter... (love you Rebecca!!)

She had a very loose and natural and personal style, and gave me lots of play room. The wedding was in December, and we wanted creamy natural whites, accented by silvers and touches of charcoal gray. The perfect touch in these was the Dusty Miller foliage that we used for the perfect soft texture and silver color. I love it! Of course the fressia, lizianthus, and hydrangea help too :) Along with the thin vintage lace ties.

Polished and textured, I absolutely love this combo of green, white, and ivory hues, offset by the dark fern curls. We've got Avalanche roses, Hypericum berries, green hydrangea, crisp white lizianthus, millet and bear paw fern bound by mossy green ribbon in a clean line but natural wrap. Perfect for an outdoor or natural setting.
